MCELHONE, Dorothy

1944 - 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mrs. Dorothy Mcelhone at the Norview Lodge, Simcoe on Wednesday June 22, 2022 in her 78th year. Formerly Dorothy Evans, she was deeply loved by her family and fondly referred to as "Billie", a childhood nickname that remains with her to this day. Family, friends, community, and her faith were very important in Dorothy's life. In 2020, she was honored to receive her 50 year Catholic Women's League pin. For too many years to count, Dorothy's day consisted of working along side her husband, Bob, and their boys on their tobacco and ginseng farm. Beloved wife of the Late Robert Mcelhone (2018). She will be greatly missed by her sons, Michael Mcelhone and Jason Mcelhone (Lori). She was blessed with three adored grandchildren: Morgan, Marissa and Myles. Dearest sister in law of Stan Kokoski, Thomas Mcelhone, Patrick Mcelhone (Fran), and Paul Mcelhone (Norma). Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews. Dorothy is predeceased by her parents, Veronica and Phillip Evans, by her sisters, Joyce Stinsman (2012) and Wilma Kokoski (2016). Also predeceased by her sister in laws, Rita Mcelhone (2008) and Betty Murphy (2014). Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Our Lady of La Salette Cemetery. Donations to the La Salette Rural Roots or Parkinson Canada will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
